Part of the reason why I needed to relegate these old pieces that didn't turn out so well was because I kept obsessively thinking about how to rewrite/rework them.
So, in this way, I'm hoping to find a balance - somewhere where I'm not obsessing over them, but maybe rework the ideas/plot/characters into something else if the opportunity/inspiration ever came up.
Luckily, I don't have this issue with the pieces that I consider to have turned out well - those I can just put down and continue with new work. (Though that's not to say that the ideas/plots/characters won't ever show up again.)
Do you ever think of revisiting those older pieces and doing a rewrite? Or do you prefer to keep moving forward with new work?

Well, hopefully the delegating works. And who knows. It might come back around where rewriting makes sense. The work isn't going anywhere!
