I was watching the last few episodes of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (season 5 of the anime, which adapts Part 6 of the manga), when I started thinking about the medium of comics (as well as animation). More specifically, I was thinking about how manga (and comics, in general) couldn’t have existed without the invention of the printing press (as well as a ton of improvements to printing technology after that).
